Hi all

Can you please give us some advice? We, as probably most of you, want discression.

We have no face pics on our profile but would not have a problem after chatting with someone, to perhaps msn or even send a private photo.

Is this not good etiquette? Some people have been quite rude when we say we would like to chat with someone firstly before sending any face pics? Should we put some on our private gallery?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and if anyone wants to say hi we would always reply even if you are not for us!

I'm increasingly finding that I prefer to see a face pic pretty early on, so I would be likely to be less chatty until that point.

But, as always there are compromises that can be made - such as your avatar which I'd class as suffifiently "face" to get me chatting.

If people are effectively demanding to see the whites of your eyes, then that seems excessive, personally.

There aren't any hard and fast rules about face pics on profiles.

You do whatever YOU feel happy and comfortable with, but don't let anyone push you into anything.

We don't have face pics on our public photos but we do have them in our private gallery, which only people who we have added as friends can see.

If anyone is rude to you about not having face pics - the best way to deal with them is to delete their post, block them and move onto someone who has more manners.

I prefer to see a face pic on a profile myself... you can always put one in your friends only list. If you're comfy with the people your chatting with,then you can invite or accept as a friend.

I know no not many want to meet people who they don't find attractive, guess they want to see what they look like asap.

Many including me don't want o put a face pic until I know who i'm chatting to, some have a rather know lots of people type jobs or a bit public faced and don't want to show face pics until they know it's ok to do so.

Worst case, you know them but don't want to play with and it cause a huff, you public facing job and some one says hey I've see you on FAB...I'm sure you can add your own scenarios...

But at the end of the day, only do what you want, don't let anyone make you behave they way they want you to behave...

Im not even readin the reples on here - no time.

Just do what is right for YOU. There is no true rule to live or die by.

If you bend cos someone whinges ..... you are no longer master of yourself. Don't even ask. Just say you will send a pic when you are ready. If they go .... let em.

Hi and thanks to everyone for your replies.

New to this so treading carefully but no way will we bend if someone says something rude. Sure we all have that in everyday life, but hey ho, life goes on.

Think judgement is perhaps the best, if we are comfortable with the person, let them see from our private pictures. If it's someone I work with then they are on here for exactly the same reasons!!!

we have our profile pic with faces blocked but can still see, size and shape of us.

we have found we chat with people and seem to get along, then they send us pic and they not like they described or just not our type.

so if both couples willing we now swap pics quite early on as not to waste anyones time.

if they have face pic on their profile then we tend to send them face pick as we think thats polite

your choice at end of the day, whatever you feel comfortable with x

Thanks for that, needs to be mutual attraction and we realise people want to see face pics, as we do, just didn't want them on our profile, but private I think is best.

Think we may get the camera out later!

Have to agree with puresilk on this one. We have face pics in our public gallery, it really does cut all the "chat for days then leading to no where out".

Its your personal choice. Have found msn to be a great way through web cam etc but again, can be awkward once you have initiated chat to then say, ermmm... your not quite what we were hoping to meet up with without sounding offensive !!

True, but looks are one hell of a starting point !!.. Certainly wouldnt just start chatting to any old minger at a bus stop so why do it on here.

Ultimately maybe not but physical attraction is usually the first thing that does attract.
