Quite often at clubs people like to be watched but don't want folks joining in. we have even played publicly in clubs and had others watching and enjoyed when only 2 or 3 but not wanted anyone else involved at that time...

Clubs are the way forward. We often play in a public/open room, or private room with the for open (and sometimes invite others to join us)
