Getting nowhere is just too much. So many dreamers, ghosters, time wasters it's taken all the fun out of looking..Giving up and leaving. Swinging isn't what it used to be.

I've had some amazing times in the past with some nice people but guess it's time to give up on getting anywhere.

The pandemic started a year ago and you’ve been on here with this profile 8 months and I’m not very good at math but even I can work out the problem here.

Single guys complaining about the site and not getting any wear with meet when your profile is only 8 months old and the fact that the whole country is in lockdown is not a good look.

What makes you think people will be wanting to meet anyone let alone yourself. Genuine question.

It's nothing to do with the pandemic. Not being a single guy you have no idea how many times it's a case of "close but no cigar". Chat starts, goes well and then ends abruptly for no reason at all, or the other profile vanishes. i've had profiles on here for quite a while and it never changes. I'm perfectly happy to wait for the right people but being a mature guy the odds are stacked so high against me it simply isn't fun and that's the main reason for being here.

take a break mate perhaps hide you’re profile for a bit it’s not all bad on fab it’s very difficult at the best of times for single men on here perhaps try a club once/when things are back to normal

The last year aside, it ain't what it used to be. The way that websites are linked, you can't have privacy anymore. Most have left or stick to a small circle. I joined over 10 yr ago. Cpls and females would message, arrange and meet. It's been hard for last few yr. This is why profiles have air brushed pics, fake verifs and tell lies. They do anything to get a meet. I've about had it as well with this site. The people make the party, and there isn't any. Clubs will be the only semi guarantee id say.

Well it seems the whole scene is dominated by sites offering pretty much the same. Endless let downs. Might try the club route but since at 55 i'm as good as dead (in the eyes of many) i may as well just stop looking and protect my health!

probably better visit a club and see how things play out personally clubs don’t appeal to me not my cup of tea but plenty of single men on here seem happy to use them as it’s a good way to make friends and perhaps have some fun as I said previously perhaps a little break from fab

I'd visit a club but never have. Have always seen them as a bit too full on. Just wanted to find one friendly couple for longer term fun without going too far into the scene. I do think a break of about a year and coming back even older won't help.

When you're too old for the majority it's like people telling you you're on the back straight of life. We're not all grey haired pensioners. OK, a bit of grey but you know what i mean! lol

First things first. Never ssume things. You say not being a single guy I will never understand.!!!.

Yes this is a couples profile but before I met my now partner I was on this site as a single guy for around ten years so I know more than most how it works.

I have also had many joint profiles with wimen I had met on fab so can see things from both perspectives.

I can tell you without question that at least 95% of all single guys on this site simply do not have a clue how to go about things or even know how to approach other couples. W1ithout comming across like I know it all I was able to meet well over the normal amount of people that seems to be conciderd the norm. I had in excess of over 130 verifications from different couples and single wimen. Was invited to many private party's and a regular at lots of different clubs. I even hosted private party's myself that were well attended by both couples and single wimen along with single guys.

You mention you may start going to clubs witch I think may be a good idea as it's not all about the sex and you will be able to speak directly to like minded people to gain a possible in site into were you maybe able to make better inroads.

Clubs aren't "too full on". For those that haven't been, it's not quite like they may imagine. There are loads of mature couples in clubs too. Realistically we all go a little bit down the pecking order as we get older. There's life in us oldies yet though!

I understand what you are saying OP about conversations ending but realistically if the conversation starts covering the same ground and possible the same words then its understandable that the other person moves on. With no clear date for physical meetings it would be hard for anyone to keep up communication on here

Socials, the best way to meet people in my humble opinion is socials and get togethers but obviously these are not happening at the moment. Once you go to socials you will meet people and make friends.

One of the responses above is spot on, my girlfriends profile is detailed and sets out precisely what she is looking for. Clearly says, ‘no attached men unless your wife knows’ and ‘please send a decent message’ so today bloke she started chatting to Saturday ‘I suppose you are working out I am with someone’ lol

But in summary get yourself to socials when they start chap!

My experience on fab has been the opposite.

I've met (virtually) so many nice interesting and down right sexy people over the last 12 months. These interactions have made me kinda realise who I am now and be open and honest about what I like, what I don't, and what I might fancy trying when I can.

My confidence has soared, example, I'd never have dreamt of putting my face on my profile before but now I'm quite happy. Sex and sexuality is something to enjoy and be fun.

Cant wait to try my first club in the summer too. The pandemic has been horrendous in so many ways but for me one positive is I can start properly being me I guess (and partly the older I get the less f*cks given about what others think).

If you're disillusioned with fab, take a break and come back when society opens up, see if you feel the same.

Like a great many people here we haven't met anyone for over a year. Your problem isn't so much your age - you're in our target range - it's the pandemic.

Who knows or cares what age the 'majority' want? Search for and only make contact with those people who are looking for someone like you. They are on this site but it will take time to find them and for the opportunity to meet to arise.

Obviously "not happy to wait". Take a break, hide your profile. Decompress and work out "is Swinging your thing".

Nb being Mature doesn't give Us the automatic right to meets and the odds aren't stacked against us really.
