Okay, I know this is a contact site and you have to put some effort in to get something out.

So here is my pet hate, "How's you" or similar as the entire content of a first contact message. First this grammatically in correct. It shows lack of thought and imagination. When received from someone way outside your age range, at best it shows naivety.

I will almost always reply when receiving a message from someone in or outside my age range, it is just good manners. I don't actively block anyone from contacting me, as you never know where a conversation may lead and we are here for adventure.

But if you are outside my range, the very least you could do is try to stand out and show that exchanging a few messages would be a good idea.

I'm sure I am not the only one that thinks this way. Welcome to the end of the civil order!
