Hello Fab friends of the future..... I hope?

I'm new to posting on the site (bet you couldn't guess ) that said, I've been a member for a while I've just never really interacted.

I did try upgrading once a while ago, but couldnt for some reason? Think I may need to borrow a landline and ring through.

But alas.... Then, we hit Lockdown...... So, I figured I'd wait a while longer.

Anyway there is an actual point to this. I waffle on sometimes...

I can see there are a few options to get in touch with members I know you know already....

Wink, favourite, messege and friend reques?

I'm going to guess wink is pointless. Possibly along with favourite someone's profile?

So,really.....

I'm wondering if it is etiquette to send a friend request first or a message first?

I figured with my fellow male counterparts ensuring I'm a cock pic sending, sex service enquiring, Small penis, cowardly Wanker.

All before I've even started to type.

I figured I could at least get this little bit of etiquette right!

Don't pointlessly waffle on with first messages...sorry I literally scanned all the above and picked out that.

I block anyone that sends me a friend request with us conversing for a while first... Sending a message doesn't count... Winking is fine but not everyone checks their winks, adding someone to your hotlist is just an easy way to stalk someone and fabbing pics is often just taken as "oh some liked my pic" by me at least, when mine are fabable...there's probably more to add but I can't remember now

Op one mans waffle is another mans waffle so if you like waffles then you waffle and power to your waffle as your waffle is strong but my waffle is poor!!

Best of luck on here.

OP when we first joined Fab sometime ago we were naive and excited. We would often send friend invites but soon learned Fab has its own etiquette and this was considered a BIG no no.

Now we get why. A lot of profiles have private pics that they only want those on their friends list to see, not anyone who just sends a random request.

The morale of the story......always message first!

I waffle too. I always send msgs and have never requested friend. just explained what I like about what they say in their profile and hoping that they want to chat back. seldom do I get a response.

I like your opening message and profile, believe me I don’t offer compliments easily.

The etiquette is to message first, just like any friendship it needs to build gradually. The main issue from couples and single women is a guy is wanting to get to the friends only pictures.

I ignore most of my friend request unless we’ve messaged each other previously.

Good luck Op

I've been here ten years, never looked at who has winked and only friend people I've met directly from their profile.

As you know, each human is fully individual in their thinking so you'll also know there is no right or wrong way.

Read and respect profiles, be respectful, upbeat and don't treat others as disposable sex toys for your gratification.

If I send a first message, I always attach a face pic, If I get a first message I expect to receive one.

We look at messages first, then winks, then fabs might get a quick glance. People use all features differently so you'll probably get 100 different answers as to who checks what. Best bet is to get used to the tools and how you feel more comfortable using each.

Shangri-la

I rarely look at winks. When I get a message I look at the sender's profile first and then decide whether to look at the message.

A friend request with no prior communication I assume is just someone wanting to see my friends only pics. They generally just get ignored (because then they cannot resend the request). My friends list consists of people I have actually met in real life or people who I chat to regularly on here.

Is it considered correct etiquette to have maple syrup on these waffles?
