Is there something wrong with me or my profile?

So, I kind of new to FAB, however, it seems really hard to trigger a reaction regardless of how good is the profile or how polite my messages are or if I wink once without bothering anymore... Guess the market for a chunky fella is really low lol.

Can anyone give any advice?

Cheers

Hello, OP, and welcome to Fab.

Your profile, the very first sentence, tells me everything I need to know about you, unfortunately.

Also, you have been here 1 WEEK! At the time when the country is on lockdown. There aren't many people who are, at this time, willing to chat to people they don't already know. But anyway, good luck and maybe have a think about your attitude and expectations from the site? It's never been instashag.

Hi miss devil,

Thanks a lot for your input and advice. I'm really thankful for your kind words.

I have to be honest with your, I couldn't agree more that this is a weird time to meet people regardless of how you do it, I guess I just thought that it was going to be easier meet new people.

As for the profile, I had to think about it and I changed the title at least.

Would you change anything else or is it good?

What do you mean by 'long term helper'? Doesn't sound very appealing to me. Plus you're so wrong about not giving a hoot about profiles!!

"What do you mean by 'long term helper'?"

Could mean someone like his mum, but with sex involved?

I've been here about 10 days now. The first few days nothing. But as soon as I put a picture of my face up(actually I had downloaded it but I hadn't put for display) then I started speaking to girls and messages too. It's a really safe site. I don't think anyone here are judgemental in anyway.

Although I'm no stranger to internet dating but this is my first time on this site. Just take it as a new adventure, a walk in the park.

Internet dating is a totally different world to the real world. Girls have the upper hand here. But it's all fun.

Don't change it if it truly reflects who you are and what you are looking for. If you do, it's almost like false advertising. There's general advice on mine should you wish to use it. Good luck. Xx

Us guys we really have to market ourselves if we want female attention. What makes us standout is key. Not easy if you have no experience with marketing or PR. Trying to connect with like minded people for fun and mutual pleasure is difficult

Hello Op,

Firstly, as has already been stated but it is important, you have joined the site at a time when people are not supposed to be meeting up. Beginning any form of conversation with a stranger is always going to be difficult at this time.

When you couple that with reality that most people won't engage with a faceless person, or a newbie, it will make it more of an uphill struggle for you. And that's without the site mathematics which places you in the largest demograph of single men. It's a horrible way to put it, but single men really are ten a penny around here.

This means that you really must work hard to stand out. Your profile is important, because the vast majority of people will look at your profile before deciding to reply or contact you, and if they don't like the look of it they will simply move on. It is your choice whether or not to publicise a face picture, and rightly so, all we can say is that as shallow as it seems you are probably ruling yourself out by a lot of people by not having one.

In the week you have been a member you appear to have made some use of the forum. That's good, as often people will click through to your profile if they read one of your posts. This is even more likely if you have an appealing profile pic. have you used the chatrooms too? If not, try it and maybe you might feel comfortable enough to show your face on cam thereby negating the need for a face pic on your profile.

It might all seem like too much hard work, or hassle, but you will get more out if you put more in and stand out from the crowd.

Good luck

I think I have the CD/TV and 50+ Male market cornered. Seem to be my only profile views. Does the blue coloured towel have some special signifying meaning I'm not aware of?

The towel code is part of the gay bath house scene. A blue one means the wearer is into mature men and transvestites... Everyone knows that bud.

Oh god. Not only that, but that particular shade of also has a dual meaning whereby it is understood that I am anti-women also!
