Are messages auto deleted after a certain period?

Are messages automatically deleted if they're not read within a few weeks?

I don't believe so, but older messages that HAVE been read are sometimes removed, but we're talking about messages that are several months old. I think it haß more to do with how many messages you have in your sent items than when though.

However, messages are removed if either party leaves the site (or their account is suspended by admin)
