Hotlist

I have a few people on my hotlist and I can see that I get an option of seeing my hotlist updates. So at the moment it says I have 7 hotlist updates yet I can only see 5. It’s the same with friend ones. I have 6 of those but can only see 4. Is there a glitch in the Matrix or am I missing something?
