Is account suspended?

How so you know if your account has been suspended (profile not forum)?

Surely you must get some kind of message/notification telling you it has been suspended and why?

It's just nothing seems to be working properly and I don't understand why

That is how you know, nothing works. You will get an E-mail too but it may not be instant.

Going on your other post about payments it makes sense now...if you ask Admin giving the username from the contact button if there has been a mistake they will check for you
