Deleting messages

Good morning

If we’ve had a message from someone and we’ve decided they’re not for us- we normally respond politely.

However- sometimes the messages just get deleted immediately.

Would they show up as yellow ( unread) in their sent folder?

We’ve realised we’ve got some unread messages in our sent folder and I’m just curious as to whether that may be what they’ve just done- deleted without reading (which is their right).

Messages that have been deleted show as deleted in the sender's sent mail.

As messages can be re-set to unread by the recipient, you cannot know for sure that it was or was not read.

Nothing to do with rudeness.

Specially with couples, when one half may wait for the other half to read the message/profile, before making a decision on what follow-up is appropriate.

Otherwise, messages can get opened automatically - which happens when you delete other messages, sometimes - but you may not want/wish/have time to read/follow-up immediately.

Sometimes I read and mark unread if I'm interested before clearing my inbox of read mail so I don't lose it. Wasn't aware that was rude. Quite the reverse actually.

I mark unread if ive quickly read it and not had time to reply, hardly being rude

I delete most without reading tbh,Dee doesn’t like it lol but if it annoys people then skin maybe too thin for this site

Yes I do at times sadly too

What I’m curious to is whether they stay yellow in the sent box ( unread)

Hi ...I think if you haven't read them or you have marked unread again they will still show up yellow but with a line through to show it's been deleted . Xx
