FabSwingers.com forum: Blocked but neigher has blocked

So me and some one i message can no longer chat....it says eigher i blocked him or him me or he been suspended but i havent blocked him he hasnt blocked me and neigher of us have been suspended....what happened?

Check your mailing preferences - one or other of you may have set filters to stop folks not in your age-group/profile status etc.

But that wouldnt direct u to the blocked message u get when u try amd message would it youd get the out of ur age range message

Having the same problems, I've got a week to go before an event. Myself and the chap I'm organising it with are both having the same issues so it's a certifiable nightmare!

Yep, it's absolute bollocks.

I posted on an existing thread on the site help forum where admin got the wrong end of the stick to earlier posts and kept redirecting to a new protocol?

Well if this is part of a new protocol I'll be honest and say it's the most shit protocol I've witnessed yet on here and that's in many years.

If it isn't then it's a glitch as PP says. Yet I've had not even an answer back on the site help forum in hours...Maybe Admin all clock off at 5pm?

Still not sorted or even acknowledged on the site help forum.

Given that this is the last weekend before the event itself and the last peak time therefore when messages can be sent back and forth this is starting to majorly fuck us off.

Other than reposting dozens of different threads in either the swingers chat or lounge forums simultaneously, highlighting this issue at the expense of all other chats till it at least gets acknowledged (as it appears Admin and the mods who alert them are all currently on a day long snooze break) which would in effect grind either of the chats on those foruns to a complete halt I don't know what else we can do?

4pm clock off time, 5pm is overtime lol

Only joking... Maybe admin are looking into it they do get 1000s of reports and mail per day. Some of time you will not get a reply if they are sorting it. Be patient

Patience is all well and good, but given that the event is next weekend this is our last main period to exchange messages in any volume really and how the hell can we do that when the software is outdated and full of holes?

Even some acknowledgement would be nice, but so far sweet nada.

The site is not manned 24 hours a day. Give Admin time to respond

Thanks for the support, so do we ha! Hopefully too all the autoblocks the site threw up get removed too and it just means we'll have to go into " radged single guy carpet bomb mode" with messages the instant it gets lifted if so to try and make up for lost organising time.

Starting each message with a little apology for the short notice of course lol!

A couple of things.

1. We have for some time (over a year) automatically given each message an "abusiveness" score. If it's over a certain threshold and it's the first message to someone, we tend to block that contact. This reduces the instances of idiots sending abusive messages to people. Occasionally there are false positives. On the whole though, this helps ensure that idiots find it hard to stay on the site and ensures people don't get upsetting initial contacts.

2. We're trialling something new (last few days) where if the context of the message has something about charging, then we'll also junk the initial message and block the contact. We're fine tuning this. This is to make the site much more hostile for anyone who is charging/offering or similar. Fab is for meets for free for fun. It's really offensive for people to offer money or charge. It looks like there are a few too many false positives on this for now so we've changed it a bit.

Sorry if your message got caught up in this and thanks to all who've given us a heads-up.
