Forum thread found on Google

I've always opted out of having my profile connected to any outside sites or search engines but I've just been contacted by a guy who found me via a forum thread that was published on google.

Are forum posts not included in the 'opt out' criteria?

The whole Forum is open - anyone with an internet connection can read the threads.

It gives prospective members a flavour of what the site is about and who frequents it.

Main reason that certain threads are deleted by Admin - to protect the members even when they don't realise they've left themselves open to the public.

To the OP, the forums are not hidden so non members can read them

If you have used your privacy settings right no one will be able to read your profile unless they are members themselves
