How can someone remove a verification from there profile?

Only Admin can remove a verification - and they will only do that if it has been given in error. You need to report the profile of the person giving the verification.

In the meantime you can hide the verification - or you can block the giver which will effectively hide it too. The Summary will still show the count including the verification you are wishing removed, until Admin change that, where appropriate.
