My profile says there is an unread message but my mail box is empty! Any ideas please ? Xxx

Try switching back to the old version of the mailbox - sometimes messages get stuck in there.

If you mean the Site has sent you an email, to verify your email address - you would need to look in your email inbox - there would be a link in that - which tells the site that your email address is valid.

that is your personal e mail (the one you used to regester with the site ) not the site messages
