OK...I've had my profile hidden for a long time and as I write this I've just received a message from a profile that was created two hours ago. How does that happen?

I don't think hiding stops messages. Have you checked your filters to see what they're set to? (I've not had it happen myself but have heard reports of other people's coming undone)

But someone who setup a profile only two hours ago, how would they find a hidden profile and a link to message that hidden profile?

If you click on someone’s name who has a hidden profile it says member profile hidden but the options at the top remain the same as if it was not hidden. If I click on your name now I would be able to message you. I could also reply to your forum post privately which goes into your inbox

Not sure about the desktop version but in the mobile version of the site there is still a link to send a message even when hidden

Hmm...this did just occur to me. Possible, I suppose, but seems really unlikely. It's not as if I'm a frequent poster or a known quantity in the forums.

The person who messaged said he'd heard of my sexual skills. If that's true I can't imagine he came searching for me in the forums or indeed stumbled upon me here during the two hours since he set up his profile.

There is the possibility that this person is someone who's been stalking me, but even in that case I can't imagine he came into the forum to find me and message.
