I see some profiles from guys in Dublin and other countries further afield yet when I try to search it always asks for a postcode and won't let me find anyone. Ie gen Canaria for instance.

Is there something we are missing ?

If on mobile you can go into 'Browse and search profiles' you can change location - if that helps.

It's not that it's not for people outside of the UK but that it's predominantly fully featured and works best for those in the British Isles. As a free to use site, money for development is limited and i think most development has been driven by the current bulk of users needs in the UK. In my experience outside of the UK, most users seem to find others by using the who's near feature. The density of users varies largely - you can other see the nearest are hundreds of miles away.

This is not an official position but admin have discussed development limitations from time to time. Postcode formats differ widely overseas and the site would need constant interface with international agencies data, to make the search facility work effectively in all likelihood, which could increase costs, with impacts on the bulk of UK users experience.
