I am new to site and have asked someone to verify me...how do I know when they have done it and can I read it

You will get a notification on the 'My Account' page - when the verification has been submitted [which has to be from someone already verified].

You then get the choice to display it or not, as you wish - check the 'Manage Verifications' page [link on the left-hand menu on 'My Account'.

You aren’t verified. You are only photo verified. You have to be meet verified to verify someone else

Have they been meet verified? If not they can’t either. Also if they are trying to verify you while you both use the same internet connection that won’t work.
