Hidden profiles - can or can not be messaged

I am abit confused, as having my profile hidden for most of the time I still get messages and winks. While if I try to search hidden profile, is comes up as nil results. How is that possible?

You can still be messaged. On the occasions we've hidden ours we would get messages asking why from people on our friends list.

I’m pretty sure you can message a hidden profile especially if someone has messaged before. I may be wrong though so don’t quote me lol

Well, exactly.

But on the other side I just tried to look up my friend's profile, alive ( i know for a fact) just hidden and it came back as -

Sorry, we couldn't find any users with that search

I am puzzled

If someone has saved you to there hot list or you have replied to a previous message they can open your profile and message you, but you will not be found on a name search

You can mail a hidden profile, but they will not show up in searches, one of the perks of a hidden profile.
