"no rugby,,just a black cam with lights on it,,and even if i go into cams/scanners no name appears,,il just buy a new one and hopefor he best, bit of a pain having t te on 2 computers while in chat,,as js just learning to type with more than one finger, lol" Depending on your level of confidence, Google for "How to identify your webcam (and then find its driver)" and have a look at the first link. I'm not familiar with W7, but I'm guessing it still has Device Manager?

"anyone know the best cam to use here,,and im using win 7,, had a cam i used on xp,,but win 7 doesnt regonise it,,and i dont have the cd/name of maker " Depending on the web cam itself and how old it is you should just be able to plug the web cam in and let windows automatically find the drivers and install it. Or you could try plugging it in. Go to control panel then system then device manager and you will see a ? in the list. This is windows telling you it see the web cam plugged in but does not know how to use it. Next right click on it and choose update driver software. Then choose search automatically for updated driver software.
