Hidden profile but still getting messages

My profile is hidden but I've just received a message from someone I've never spoken to before. When I asked how he could message me he said he's a techie and could work around these things.

Is this true?!

No. There's still the option to message, wink, hotlist, verify etc...

You need to change your messaging preferences as well as just hiding your profile if you don't want to receive messages from people who you haven't spoken to before.

I can still message you from this thread using the reply privately button

I'm your privacy settings there is an option to make sure your profile is not publically viewable off the site, so only other members with profiles can see it, otherwise it and pics etc can be googled and found by non members.

Also they can still just get to the, user has hidden there profile screen from any of the forum posts you have done by just clicking on your name and selecting to message you from there.

I've always had this setting switched off but it seems that with some know-how it's possible to get around that.

He'd have had to know your username for that. Don't believe everything you're told.

You still have your pics showing, which is on way that people can find hidden profiles. Also you're active on the forums so people can message you via them. Start using your filters and privacy options and you should reduce the number of people messaging you.

Maybe set your filters to receive messages from 98-99 year olds. Don't blame me if you are inundated with messages tho. Those oldies rock!
