Disappearing messages

So if I've written to someone and they've written back and we were friends but now I can't find them anywhere - not in my friends, hotlist, no trace of messages sent or received what does it mean?

If they've blocked me the nesssges would still be there - it's not showing as unlos- where are they?

When someone goes UNLOS their messages disappear now. Looks like they have gone, sorry.
