I tend not to log out.

Any idea how long I show as still being online even when I'm not using the site?

But why is that so?

Why does it show Online for 5 mins even when the user has gone offline?

Its just how it is.. most sites take a few minutes to update

Every time you view a new page it updates the database that time, when someone views your profile, if the last date you was active was 5 minutes ago or then will show you as offline.
