Why can some profiles get to have cartoony pictures on their profile but others cant?

We have seen plenty of profiles were the main picture is just a cartoon in fact we have one, i made the picture myself using photoshop and since i made it the copyright is mine

but we have seen plenty of other profiles that break the copyright by using images.

Why do certain pictures get passed and others dont?? should the rules not be the same for everyone????

seems to us it depends on the person checking the pictures, some of them seem to have a sense of humour but others dont...

Picture approvers are doing what the site owner wants, so it matters not if they have a SOH or not, they are doing as they are told

Since the site was took over they have brought in different rules as to what they want on the site.

If you see any pictures that break rules , report the picture and it gets looked in to.

If you have a picture that seems to have gone through that is against site rules ( by accident probably) expect it to be reported

The thing that puzzles me is where a picture is removed because it contains someone else - even though the 'someone else' was looking away from the camera and could not be recognised !

That happened to us and the piture was rejected and only after I protested to SJ_Mark was it put back again.

So what is the difference between blanking a face out and looking away from the camera with only the back of the head and body showing ?

Maybe the image mods are doing as the site owners tell them, but do they not all need to sing from the same hymn sheet ?

They do yes, and I am sure they do....but mistakes can be made, even pictures mods are human

..and why if anyone sees anything that they think isn't quite right, they can report the picture and it gets looked at.

lol people on here wanna take a chill pill, this site is meant to be fun but some people treat it like its the whole world to them...

any how why report anyones profile for having a cartoon on it after all its just a laugh, we just saying the people that check the pictures dont have the same standards some let funny ones past and some dont..

Oh and once again i made our picture and from scratch using a camera and photo shop... so i aint broke any copyright lol

Why is reminding people of the rules makes you need a chill pill?

You asked why your picture was rejected, I am guessing it is because you say it is a cartoon....wether you made it and it is yours or not, the site says you can't have it.

You don't have to report people for having cartoon pictures on, but as you brought it up, I suggested if it bothers you to report it.

Photo Rules:

1. The photo must be of you or your partner (you must have permission from your partner). Uploading web porn will get you banned.

2. Everyone on the photos must have been aged 18+ at time they were taken. Anyone uploading pics of under 18's will be reported.

3. It's OK to have other people in the photo too as long as they can't be identified.

4. The photo can't have another site's watermark on it.

Pretty straight forward if you ask us

lol as we say this is meant to be a FUN site for people and wats wrong with us having a self portrait on our profile???

we are a gen couple that has been verified by others we pay to be a site supporter. we are here to have a laugh and meet other people (as long as they dont have their head up their own ass)

our picture does not hurt or decieve anyone so all we can say is "IF SOMEONE IS THAT SAD AND UPTIGHT THEY HAVE TO REPORT IT THEN REPORT AWAY"

we are one of the most relaxed and laid back people on here lol and we are not being confrontational we are just putting our point of veiw across, there is a certian sense of humour in our pic and the people who see that are the ones we pefer to meet.. hope that makes it a bit clearer ( in a non confrontational way lol) so lets get on enjoying the site and having fun

prior to the current owners taking over the site the pictures that were uploaded were not approved by anyone so basically you could upload any picture that you wanted.

The new owners have come in and thought that approving pictures would improve things and would possibly stop people from uploading inapproriate pictures, stealing pictures etc.

The pictures on a persons profile should, imo, be of the people who is in the profile. Uploading pictures of fruit, toys, cars, motorbikes etc is pretty pointless as you are not going to meet these things, you are meeting real people and want to see real people.

If we suspect the person in the pic is under 18 then we would deny it on the basis of it being an under 18 and then send a message to admin stating this.

Surely it's better to be safe than sorry??

What ever happened to a sense of humour and allowing people to have a little bit of originality ? Flexibility is the name of the game......... So what if you have a cartoon ? It's not the end of the world. It's shit like this that makes us wnder if it's worth continuing to live

We all have our own way of looking at it and interpreting the rules.

To me, the rules are simple. The pic must be of you or your partner. A cartoon pic isn't the person or their partner so that doesn't get approved. Until admin tell me otherwise I will continue as I am

As long as the person is not identifiable in the picture then it's allowed.

Red, how come the pic mods have to allow a little give and take on the rules yet many a chatroom mod has been beaten down for similar when the have taken action against someone in chat? Either we have rules to stick to or we don't? It doesn't matter whether its for pic approving, forum modding or chatroom modding ... rules are rules.

Sorry, don't feel I said what I wanted to in the last post.

Basically you are saying that a little give and take should be given to picture approving yet when the rules are not strictly adhered to for chatroom modding then all hell breaks loose. EG someone was banned for giving out home address in chat one night and were banned. Now it doesn't say anything in the rules about that but taking into account a persons personal safety, or possibly someone elses, then this could have been the right thing to do.

So the rules were adjusted slightly here and mods got jumped on, called power crazy. Yet when we are given clear rules and guidelines for approving pics, which I can assure you we did, we are called power crazy for adhering to them? Seems like its a no win situation.

I dont know of a any site where there are members that feel the need for back seat modding like th eold saying goes...

You have never mentioned power crazy in this thread however it is something that mods have been called before along with a whole host of other names.

The matter still stands though, we have been given clear guidelines regards photo approving and until admin tell us otherwise I will be sticking with them no matter what anyone calls us.

Just a quick note on why we have this "no cartoons" rule.

If the owners of the betty boop rights found out someone was showing their image on here, and they were of a mind to take action, it could cost us tens of thousands in legal fees and damages.

We don't have that kind of money so it's just not worth the risk.

Plus most members tell us they don't like seeing cartoon images on here.

So that's why we have the rule, even though at times it can seem petty.

Being a mod in any forum, be it a Swinging one, work one, social network one or anything else is a job that is thankless and to some extent full of dilemmas. No matter what position is taken, someone else will disagree and then off we go. Abraham Lincoln once said that democracy was a great idea, until you have more than one person involved in it!

The reason for rules on a site like this is to keep some semblance of order (good luck with that), prevent people leaving in their droves and attract new people. We may or may not like the rules, if you don't like them, just email the owner and a) ask why that rule is in place and if possible b) can it be relaxed? c) ultimately if that doesn't work, find a site that suits you better

At the end of the day, it's a site owned by someone who can do essentially what they like with it - but I'm assuming they will do what attracts the largest number of people. Remember as well, that for the majority of us here, it's free!

p.s. I'm not a moderator on this or any other site for the reasons stated above and also I would become power crazed and it would degenerate and there would only be me and the site owner left on here (and they wouldn't be allowed to post in the forum

Simple solution. Get original pic verified,then,your bodies are proved your own. So,whats wrong if you wanna be known as a fruity couple. Just dont change the pic to a hazel nut n walnut tho,or people might think u gone nuts.

dunno some ppl from old site owners had profiles perm banned cos they had cartoons on it i.e. copyright etc., but i used to like it when you could put captions under your pics that was fun cant do it now tho.

I was browsing profiles tonight and noticed loads all with cartoons as their icon pics (avitar whatever you call it) and wondered why they havent had them removed??

Is this something that is happening slowly as someone has to check all profiles?

I know we are supposed to report them but to be honest there were soo many I knew I would end up causing hassle for the person/people checking.

the reality is that no matter what we have as an avatar, we will ultimately be identified by those we meet or talk to on the site because sooner or later we will see the person who is behind it, so as long as copyright isn't an issue, and you have been verified, than what ever you use as an avatar has little bearing on who you are because the site admin already know your true identity, so there it is in a nutshell, we are who we are not what we appear to be and you can't hide that under any avatar

yes its a fine line and some comical avatars have and still been approved by site, so most members dont know its a problem then all of a sudden they are not allowed them and some report this as if its the members fault lol

end of the day its a swinging site for people to search, chat and meet other swingers oh and have fun lol not trail thro profiles looking for cartoons lol
