Blocking query - in chat and on profiles

Several people have discussed this issue in the Chatrooms recently and we'd like to know if we're all going crazy - or there's been a sea-change in the way blocking works in the Chatroom [as opposed to the way profiles are blocked].

When I block someone's profile - they go on my 'Blocked List'. But when I go into the Chatroom - I can still see their banter - until I block them in there too. This I understand is because the two sides [chat/profiles] are managed on separate systems????

However, having blocked someone in chat only, I then cannot see their profile and their name in the Chatter's List is shown in grey with a crossed out line through it. However other users find there is no greying/crossing out line showing and they still cannot view a profile of someone they have not blocked ...

There seems to various combinations of what can/cannot be seen when blocking is done - from either side.

Is this possibly related to the various platforms/browsers etc that people use?

Could the Techy Whizzkid(s) shed some illumination on this matter for us? Pretty please

It gets very long-winded trying to bring Newbies up to speed about the quirks of this place when it seems the experience of the same issue varies so much from user-to-user

I think it works that when YOU have blocked someone, you see the name grey-ed out with a crossed line through it. When THEY have blocked you, you still see the name in black with no cross-out.

I can't help with the rest, though, sorry!

That would make sense, Flirty - but it doesn't key with the experience of others I've chatted with about this. But, Cheers for the thought!
