blocked but still receiving messages?

I don't like random people contacting me and prefer to choose who I receive messages from.

So I have blocked everyone who I haven't contacted first from being able to send me messages.

But I'm still getting unsolicited messages?

Why is this please?

If you have ever replied to any message previously when your filters were off then they are automatically bypassed now they are on. So you can block anyone new from messaging but not someone you have winked, have messaged previously or who are friends.
