My fb told me he is in America, on his profile where it says distance it says he's 5 to 10 mlies away! Is he telling me porkies as when my other fab friend went on holiday it said distance 2545 miles away?

I think nearby searches depends on the location that you have entered on your profile?

I tested this for someone a little while ago when I was overseas but I still had Manchester as my location on my profile settings....and it still showed me as being in Manchester

that is, it showed me as being 20 miles away when I was actually a few 1000

I dont have location enabled on any of my devices and if you look in the mobile forum youll see that people often have problems. May be something to do with that?

Or of course your friend might be in Scunthorpe and not the US

I think if you don't change your postcode then it won't show the mileage for your new location.

If you're logged in on your mobile with location services enabled it will show roughly your true distance. Not everyone uses this

America might be the name of the girl he is shagging 10 miles from you, so to be fair on him he's not really lying when he says he is in America

You cant use the "who's near" with a hidden profile...

So if your profile has been hidden when you've looked it will only show you distance to the registered postcode... so assuming the person hasn't changed their postcode / country it will still show as original one
