Down as fake?

I messaged someone a week or so back and had a reply enclosing a link from another site ....

So this person had done a google image search on one of my pics, seen I have it on another site also and came back accusing me of having a fake profile .... I guess the assertion that I had lifted pics.

It's hardly a rarity to be on several sites at once, I am not going to put a false beard on abe make myself look different!

So they blocked me depriving me of the opportunity to respond.

Then today, someone mailed me to say I was down as a fake, and again blocked me so I can't respond.

My concern is some knob end with a grudge is tarnishing my name. So IS there somewhere where people are flagged up or called out?

Can I clear anything up?

There is no 'blacklist'. However, a lot of people are obsessed with fakes, and use reverse image search, to avoid meeting people who have fake pictures. What they don't appreciate is that the same person may have put the same picture on more than one site.

If it's really bothering you, take a new picture of yourself, and don't put it anywhere else on the web. This doesn't stop other people from nicking your picture of course - there is no way to stop people nicking pictures.

It bothers me in so much as I'm genuine and would rather have the right of reply and understand why people or said people get wrong end of stick but hey ..... Can't be liked by everyone, I'd never have any free time huh

Some people find google images and Tineye and then use no common sense when accessing it. Sometimes it is a curse as people assume others are fake.

There is no list if fakers on the site so maybe the people who saw your pic on another site assumed you were the fake.

You could always point people to the fact you have a PV

We use it a lot, but try to apply logic to the result. Maybe try using different pics on different sites to stop this happening. Surprised this hasn't happened to us, tbh.

I've used tineye a few times and most are to make sure I'm not being spun a yarn as there seems to be quite a few women on here who will send pics then when reversed searched they ping up on lots of porn sites not meeting sites and when I then question them suprise suprise I get blocked :/ I struggle to get chats as it is but gezzz I'm not desperate lol

If I were you make your pic specific to each place like mentioned above

I would make a point of saying in your profile text, that you are on other sites. Folks who do the FakerSearch may not go so heavy on the Iggy Button if they can confirm you are real not only on here but elsewhere too

Reverse search can be useful but you need to use common sense and, if a pic is on other sites,do more research.

Put your name down for one of the organised socials/parties in your area, where you should be able to chat with many people who might verify you. Or politely mail verified people in your town, asking if they can spare half an hour for a coffee, so they can verify you.

If all else fails, you can go on cam in the chat rooms and ask for a verification, but many people will not do cam-verifications for single males.
