Currently a silver member but will be away for a while, not part of the site. If I don't renew before my current membership stops but then renew say a month or so later, what happens to all my "who looked at me" and saved messages etc? Do they come back or are they lost?

Not sure about saved messages but look at me will change daily depending how many view your profile, so who ever on look at me today is unlikely to be on it a month later.

If in doubt pay the fiver whilst you are away

Your saved messages will be there after you renew your subscription, and the who looked only shows the last 100 to view your profile.
