Upgrading from silver to gold early

Hi I'm hoping someone can help please.

I would like to upgrade my site supporter stuff to gold, but I still have 9 days worth of silver left. My question is, will the gold supporter stuff kick in immediately or will the silver days need to expire first before gold starts?

if you have 2mths of silver and you buy a mth of gold you will get 3mths of gold

But does it get you guaranteed meets? Or is that only with Platinum membership? (See Brighton Steve about that one!)
