Hey guys, I'm heading out of the UK for a while and will be back sometime next year. I don't want to delete my account as I will use it again. However, I also don't want it to be live and people to be able to message me. I know I could hide my profile but I believe people who have already messaged me could still get in touch? Just don't want to seem rude and like I'm ignoring them haha. What's best?

Could you message the people who may message you and explain you will not be available before you go?

You could update your profile with that information but all in all, it is probably best to mail your friends and then hide your profile

You could always hide your profile and then use your filters to close down as much mail as possible and then just bulk delete upon return?

Or just bulk delete on return?

Delete everyone off your friends list for now.

Delete all read and saved messages.

Move all pics to private.

Set filters to receive no emails from anyone.

Hide profile.

If anyone manages to message after that? Give them a Blue Peter badge for being a persistent little bastard
