Age restricted box

Can anyone tell me why there is an age restrictions box to tick or leave open when browsing. Why would I want to browse any profile that isn't interested in my age? That is just a waste of time browsing profiles that restrict any communication or viewing. If you forget to tick it you then get a load of profiles that are pointless reading....so why is it there? Any enlightened fabbing on this box? Thanks.

Some people just have age restrictions as a guideline rather than a set rule.

Yeah so what's the point of the option? Why not have it automaticly ticked ..they dont want to see you....bit like the no reply to messages just another frustration if u forgetbto tick it.

Guideline or rule you can't contact them...so have it automatic in the search.

I get that...but why have the option to get even then view u as a potential meet if I forget to tick that box...it wastes my time reading the profile onky to be told they're not interested. ...my point is if uve blocked my age or marital status then you shouldn't ecen come up in ny search. Its seems a pointless box to search and tick lol. Adds o the frustrated site protocol. Just an observation.

So they filter but the system requires you to filter it too...yeah that makes a lot of sense lol....good web design

There are two things here:

People have age preferences - but sometimes are willing to deviate when they see someone they like.

Other times - they are *really* not interested in meeting people outside - and that's when the 'only' option box is ticked.

Just because you are sensible enough to not try to contact others who are not looking for someone like you - doesn't mean that everyone has such reservations.

So let me get this....if im on the other foot...

I put in age restrictions but it actually doesn't restrict those prople viewing me...ok that makes a whole lot of sense lol. It actually requires them to tick their own box too in order for that to happen. ..lol. who thought thus one up ha ha ha.

Actually it doesn't. .their filter only prevents you from messaging abd winking not from coming up in your search....so hense the double filter of having to tick it. Would be good to have a permanent option. ..once ticked then its sorted. Its actually a simple bit if Web programming.

You can view any profile that hasn't been hidden or that hasn't blocked you (or you them), the age filters only stop people outside their age preference mailing them if they have these filters set.

It also helps you browse/search for profiles in the age range you are looking for, and if you tick the box, matching their age preferences too.

Incrediably easy to use

I just tried advanced search and ticked the box " I match their age requirements" went through all of the results and we matched all of the age requirements so it seemed to work for us

Works well for us and not just age requirement but other preferences too such as smoking. A permanent solution wouldn't be for us as our preferences have changed over time and we like to review them based on that and experiences

We have ages listed as a guide not a hard and fast rule. We have met outside of those and had a fun time.

The option to only see those that you are in the age range of only works if you assume all users of the site are fixed on their preferences and are only here to meet. We chat socially to those off the forum or people we have met in clubs. On top of that there are some lovely accounts with photos I enjoy looking at where we are not what they want. I wouldn't like them blocked because we are a couple or the wrong age.

Be nice to have Age filter when browsing the meets listing... So far it only has; When, Region, Sex, and Type. As the list can be more than 3 pages?
