A user I was chatting (a lot) with has very suddenly disappeared.

Is there a way to find if if I have been blocked or the other account was suspended?

The chances of the other account having deliberately blocked me are very very small as we were getting along very well (although obviously there could have been a change of heart!).

If the account is suspended, is the suspension indefinite?

Any help appreciated.

Why don't you get someone you know on here to search the profile if they can see it then you are blocked and can't contact that person.

You can still search for any profile, even if you're blocked from seeing the content.

So if username search brings up no results.....they've deleted that profile.

Whether that was voluntary or via Admin you'll probably never know!

I actually tried that (forgot to say) but they said that they couldn't find the profile either.

Also, the profile is showing up in my Friends List and Hot List with log in times that imply it is still active.

Could I get a volunteer to have a search for me?

If they are suspended by Admin you will see the normal message that comes up.

If they have left the site they wouldn't be in your hot list.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

1. Forum suspensions can be of variable lengths. I imagine profile ones to be similar.

2. No idea, never saw a suspended profile before. My friends behave themselves!

If a profile is suspended the person can still log into their account,just cant send or recieve messages x

Well if they've tried to login its normal, when these things tend to happen the profile more often than not dissapears altogether after a few days.

If a profile is suspended by Admin it is normally permanent.

I have a similar problem, maybe you can tell me what you think? I tried yesterday to create a couple profile for me and a friend. The profile was fine for a while, I also bought a gold site support, then I thought that the username was a bit funny so I requested to change it and the request was accepted. However, a little while later the profile became inaccessible. Although I could log in (and I still can), if I try to look at the my profile page, or open this page from my single profile I get the message: "The user you tried to view doesn't seem to be on the site anymore". I initially thought that this was a bug, so I deleted the profile and recreated exactly as it was, same username and password, but I kept receiving the same message. Then I deleted it again and recreated the profile with a slightly different username, but I still can't access it. The user name d_and_d in edinburgh, you can try to search it and then click to open it, you will get this message.

Do you think admin suspended it for some reason and have put me in some kind of black list, which means that there is no way I can create a couple profile anymore?

It could possibly be that your browser is trying to reload the page with the old name.

Which doesn't exist.

Try clearing your cache and restarting your browser.

Have you tried putting underscores in when logging in instead of spaces, for example d_and_d_in_edinburgh it could be that?

Forget that last bit, although the profile shows up in search, it seems the actual profile has been removed or deleted.

thanks everybody for your comments. I have now deleted this profile and managed to create a new one with the completely different username 'firescotland', i just hope it survives... the previous ones had similar usernames and i think i was on some kind of black list ... not sure what happens when someone is reported by another member... i bet i was (very unfairly) reported, as all this happened after a single male contacted me on this (couple) profile, ignoring the fact that it is a couple profile only looking for couples, and proposed something i wasn't going to do, so i told him that he should have read the profile and also that i don't like being a slut, but that there are plenty of others on this site you do, so it wouldn't be difficult to find one!... i really think i winded him up..., but then if admin blocks in this way anybody who is reported (fairly or not) this really isn't a good system at all... anyway, rant over, thanks again for your comments and hope this is the end of this...

About a month ago I arranged to meet a guy all I was waiting on was him to call me to say he was ready to come but the call nevercame he did email me on here to say he was ready but I told him I wouldn't be online n I had said to call .. So after a hour I decided to meet someone else

Around midnight the txts started turns out he knows my other half from work and then says if I don't meet in the next half hour he will get my partner in trouble then that he knows where I live n that he's gunna come find me the abuse goes on for 2 days via txt and emails

I report him and admin take his profile down but 3 days later he's back on and emailing my mate !

Admin Shud log ip addresses and ban them

Report profile(s) again, and/or any messages sent. Explain in the report the history and the resultant action by admin.

People only get suspended if a report is proven and it is severe enough to get them banned for good off the site. Admin don't suspend an account just on someones say so.

Blocking IP doesn't work, why?

This is because ISP's(Internet Service Provider's)assign IP's dynamically, this means that they give you a IP address when you login, so you do not keep the same IP address. Now because most people have routers(the box connected to the phone socket)you keep the same IP address until either you loose your connection or you reboot your router, so it's very easy to get a new IP address to get around a blocked IP address, but there is another issue what if you block an IP address on a large company like BT or SKY who have many customers, you block the IP address of one member who's banned and then that IP address is given to another customer who is also a Fab member, they then cannot login because this IP address is banned.

I am wondering if I've been blocked or the person I've been chatting to has been suspended. We were getting on fine and had arranged to meet after Christmas. (Short to the point messages on her part. But some are like that) But now I can't see her profile for the reasons above. Can somebody check for me please. If not I'll just wait a bit. How long is the longest you can be suspended for?.

Oh right OK. I thought it may be for a week or two. She didn't seem the type to get suspended. But then I don't seem the type to get blocked. I guess I'll never know.
