Reading old mail

How do I read old mail that's run off the bottom of my message list? At the moment the list only holds about a week's worth of mail before it disappears. I know it's still on the server, because if I delete new mail then it puts older messages back on the bottom of the list. It feels like there should be a "next page" button but there isn't.

Good question,we've got over 600 messages at the mo so havnt read most of them

Delete some from your first page and the others will appear.

Yes I realise I could do that. But I'd rather not delete a lot of messages, and I'd like to go a long way back! There must be a better way.
