Why does it seem like unread messages have a life span? As if they run out of time and disappear.. Because I come to my messages after having around 70 unread and it was dropped to 41 yesterday. I read one message and today I woke up with 34 unread. Does this site delete unread messages after a certain time they've been in your inbox?

Shouldn't do it.. They're your private messages that you pay the site to either keep or delete at your own discretion..

No, you donate and in return you receive the ability to save emails.

All users have a inbox size limit and the site terms clearly state that inactive emails are subject to possible deletion after a period of time.

Messages that are unread after a certain period of time are removed (because we assume they're not going to be read).

If you save a message, it won't be removed.

Why were so many messages unread? Are they ones you've marked unread or that you've yet to get around to reading? We're interested to learn more so we can improve this

I only save top priority messages to me, such as messages about near future meets or postcodes, pictures. Not all the messages I want to get back to eventually. They should be in my inbox. I do delete messages from people I'm not interested in or boring conversations, but if I read every message at the time of it being sent I'd have no life I'd just be replying to everyone all the time so I don't read them as I come back to them later on in the future when I've either got spare time or spare time coming up in order to plan meets. I can understand deleting messages that are read but our messages that are unread should be ours to read at any point we like not deleted by admin.

In my case the unread messages are because i haven't been able to read them before they disappear off the inbox page. Is there a possibility of making the inbox have pages? So you can go to say page 10 and look at the messages there, before page 1?

If you delete a message from your 'sent items' box, this only deletes it for YOU. The recipient will still receive it and can read it.
