Sorry if this is dim. I'm new. But what is the hot list for? I understand the friends list fair enough, but does putting someone on your hot list make and difference? Do they know that they are on it? Why can't hedgehogs share the hedge...

As I see it I would read a series of profiles and add ones that interested me to my hotlist, like highlighting a couple of important items on a huge ' to do ' list.

Updates on status of those on your (private) hotlist appears on your homepage at login.

Same with accepted friends, where both parties wish to know what their 'friends' are up to....

Sits back with texting thumb in an icebucket... awaiting correction from above...

London and Cheshire

We use our friend list for people we have actually met or have arranged to meet.

We use the hotlist to remember/bookmark profiles of people we would like to meet or are currently chatting to with a view to meet.

Just helps us to not have a friends list thats a mile long.

Yes you can block people on your hotlist, but it doesn't remove them from that list, you just cannot view their profile.
