fabbed pic drops after a while

Why if u dobt get fabbed after a certain amount of time the fabs on ur pics drop is this how it works or is there a glich on the site i lost 40 in the space of an hour.

Each 'fab' 'lasts' for 24 hours in the 'Recently Fabbed Photos' view. The photo retains the fab after this time though.

The fabbing process seems to be crazy. I keep getting to 99 fabs on any given pic and an hour later I'm back down to 50 or 60 fabs on the same pic. It's stupid.
