can you still pay by text message the day your account has run out ?

Hi hope someone can help me , my account ran out yesterday and i have been trying to pay by text today but the text message will not send ?

It could be your network blocking a premium rate text service x I have to use an old t mobile phone to do my new, Vodafone won't let me
