If someone is kicked from the site, would mail disappear that they have sent us, and us to them?

We had been chatting to a couple on Saturday who seemed quite ordinary. Then by Sunday, we couldn't access their profile (got the message that we blocked them, they blocked us, or user kicked off site).

Noticed today though that the few exchanges we have had via mail have also disappeared - both mail we received and mail we sent.

Does this happen when a user is kicked off the site?

Any mail sent or received stays if someone blocks you or they block you. If they leave for whatever reason, the messages would still be there but instead of the profile name, if would say user no longer on site. I would message admin for clarification.

If someone removes themselves from the site, the messages are removed from the system (in varying timescales).

They may have blocked you or been suspended, then gone.

Thanks, that explains why it seemed to happen in stages.

Always wonder what the backstory is to sudden disappearances, but I guess we'll never know.
