FabSwingers.com forum: messages in my inbox are gone

i had left a few messages in my inbox they had being there for a few months and i just checked them and they have now gone and it seems messages are only stored for a period of time now, can anybody confirm this as i need a number from one of the message i had left what am i to do now? can they be retrieved at all?

any help is appreciated

They won't have been deleted unless you have deleted them - ....

However, depending upon how many messages you have, the message you are looking for has probably gone off the bottom of the page. It will still be there, but doesn't appear on the message page.

Delete some of your newer messages, and the one you are looking for will probably appear at the bottom of the list, and it will move further up the list, the more you delete from the top.

If that makes sense

I'm pretty sure you will, but be carefull that you don't delete the one that you're looking for

It's just a shame that when the messages on one page get too many that it doesn't go to page 2 and 3 etc, but there we have it

it did not work i deleted a whole load a few that was not originally on the page came up but the rest did not so i think it has definatley gone

Thats bad news - maybe you deleted it by mistake.

Worth a try though

You could always contact Admin, see if they can shed any light ...

it might just be that the person who sent you the message has left the site and all mail from them has been deleted as is the case with the forums and other things they had done on the site

we have the same problem all our recieved and sent mail has disapeared also our winks have gone,we havent deleted anything ourselfs accept seing a reply from another saying they may be on another page but thats not it so we have lost them all now HELP have we been hacked ?????

Maybe you have done it by accident?

I'm forever deleting all our emails by accident instead of deleting the one i wanted to to delete x

If the messages are more than a month old and the user who sent them is no longer on the site, they may have been deleted by the system.

Site supporters can "save" messages like this to their saved folder and they will not be deleted by system.

We'd love to keep everyones messages forever but with 250,000 messages sent each day and most folks not keeping their inbox clean, we either need to impose limits on mailbox size (which we have no intention of doing because it would stop people getting new mail) or run some type of cleanup (which we do).

Any deleted messages can't be retrieved. Sorry

Like we say if you have important mail you never want to be deleted, save it.
