Can accounts/profiles just expire?

Can accounts/profiles just expire or do they physically have to be deleted?

I dont think they ever expire.

It looks better on the member numbers when people just leave them. In searches recently logged in, come first.

If you do a local search you'll find a lot of profiles that have not been in use for over a year
