I have someone on my blocked list but I notice that he is also showing on my hot list, how do I remove him from it?

In Your Bush

If you are using the mobile site, just go into your hotlist and under their username, there is a remove from list link.

Except he's not on it but clearly had a heart on the menu along with the fact that I'd blocked him

Ah ok. He must have been there before you blocked him which is why the heart is there. The site put a fix in a while ago to stop blocked people staying on your hot list.

Ah right okay, that makes sense then as he was on it for a while until we got chatting and he then got blocked

Why do my fab'd photos not show on the hot photos? They have enough fans.

I'm not 100% but I believe the default for (currently) hot photos is the number of Fabs within the previous 12 hours as opposed to the number it has for the duration it has been on the site.
