Hi

I have just noticed that my one verifications(feedback) is not now published as the person in question has left the site (I know the reasons) - surely this penalises me also - why can't they stay published with just the link back to the 'publisher' - saying has left site !

Can anyone explain?

Thanks

Just site policy I think, once a user leaves everything they publish is deleted, it's a shame though but your veri summary will still state your verified through meeting/cam depending on how you were verified

I'm think I remember seeing something on here it's got something to do with copy right. I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will let me know.

I agree. They leave people's posts up in the forum don't they?

I agree and on another note think they should allow you to remove a veri also

Yes when someone has left the site the forum post they have written does not disappear-so what's the difference by leaving the verification post showing-absolutely none.

I would have thought the reason behind it as the veri system can be open to abuse

Somebody could join the site , make a profile and then go to another computer on a different network (work pc etc) make another profile solely for the use of verifying the first account and then once that have verified themselves they would just delete the 2nd profile

Meant to add that I think it still happens but all they do now is simply hide the 2nd profile

The amount of profiles we have seen with a few very good veris all made by hidden profiles just looks dodgy

And I know that that could happen but still looks funny to us

If you display your verification summary, it will say you have had a meet in person, just won't be able to display the text from that person

Posts in forums still stay if a user has left the site, their profile name is replaced by user no longer on site

you can only be veried from another verified user so thats the floor in that theory

You can by blocking the person

Personally a veri left by 'user no longer on site' has no interest for me.

I tend to look at the profile of the verifier as this can give an insight into the profile your viewing - as well as other useful info!

It happens. People leave. And if someone chooses to leave I feel it's right that all traces of them go too - their name over forum posts and messages, as well as verifications they left.

Best suggestion? Go get some new veri's to replace them!

If one only has one verification left by someone who has since left the site, I believe he/she will still retain the "green arrow" that signifies him/her as verified, which I believe is only fair.

If you block the person you verified their verification goes i believe!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, think the point was that a Veri can contain good info and can help a viewer decide(for good or bad) and once a person leaves that info goes - when it could simply stay on as text with a any click into verifier's profile still bringing u through to a "person has left site" message, there's no security risk!

Thanks anyhow guys n gals

Sometimes it's nice things on verify msg that want to keep. Also when know u had x num verify and one disappears it's a pain trying to think who's missing x
