Web address blocked

I've received a message from someone new and at the bottom it had web address blocked in brackets. I've asked him and he doesn't know so anyone have any ideas?

I think all links are blocked in first messages...as they're often spam.

They probably sent a link to something....or possibly an email address???

He mentioned that he'd put a link to his picture which I guess must be in another site hence it got removed. First time I've seen that hence I didn't know what it meant. Thanks

. But shouldn't he get a warning message?
