Recent very accurate location messages

We have suddenly had a couple of messages from other users asking if we are in a specific pub right now, or a specific apartment building. We only ever see "within half a mile" on the who's near - just coincidences or is there a privacy setting somewhere I haven't found to reduce our location accuracy a bit?

Guessing probably. They either know the area / google the area and guess which pub/ place you might be?

I think some people do try to triangulate others, in their own way. It can be more of an issue, if you're in a very isolated, more rural location, where few people and places exist.

I have had it occasionally, with men trying to work out which hotel I'm in. Thankfully, the Fab location ID isn't very finely communicated.

It can sometimes be worth switching it off, if you sense you could be exposed

If you're within half a mile they could have a guess where you might be. For privacy you can turn off "see who's near", no-one will know where you are.

He told his boss who broached the subject with me. I took the boss to Quest! Then we had the Covid Pandemic and swinging stopped.

It does ask for an exact location or a near location at times especially on the who's near page. It happens to me every time I clear my cache or delete my browser history.

As long as they were just lucky guesses all good. I'd never seen the who's nearby thing say under half a mile.
