Does anyone know how to upgrade by text using Smarty mobile?. They say you can send shortcodes if you buy an add on which I have done and you should be able to receive a reply but it doesn’t seem to happen. Added £10 to cover the premium text cost and reply. Any ideas?

I'm not with Smarty but they should charge the £5 plus an out of bundle text message charge typically - it'll depend on your tariff. Have you considered checking with Smarty that the add-on for short-code and premium rate, over 18s service access, are correctly setup for your account?

Now that Smarty have short-code text messages - they've not always had them - it should work, as with other networks.

I have contacted Smarty and they have checked my account settings and said there is no reason why I shouldn’t get a reply with a code to upgrade. The 0.15p text charge has been deducted but the £5.00 reply text hasn’t been charged. They have said it’s a third party issue meaning the problem is at the site end.

Most phones have a setting to allow premium texts .

For example on android go to settings and search for 'use premium text message services'

Make sure your message app isn't blocked there

I have an iPhone and no such setting is there. Smarty and I can see that adult content has been enabled so I have no idea what to problem is.
