Disappearing messages

Think I know the answer but just checking.

Been chatting with someone, now all messages disappeared without trace. They were also on my hotlist, but no longer.

Does this mean they have deleted their account?

More than likely yes, happens all the time with me. If you saved one of their messages it will appear still in your saved messages but with no profile name.
