Can standard members retrieve photos from members you've conversed with, and sent pictures to who, you now cannot trust?

Only if they've sent them in a message and ticked the delete photo box. They can't retrieve them if they haven't done that.

In short, no.

You can try deleting the photo from your gallery that sometimes deletes it their end too.
