Unless you have spoken by webcam/video chat or seen in person you cant.

If any of these apply you go to menu and click verify as genuine then complete it from there.

This is what it says when you go to verify someone

'Please only verify profiles as genuine when you have met in person or seen on cam. You also need to provide a comment giving more information on your verification. '

If you've chatted on cam or in person and you already have a verification you can do it by tapping the 'verify genuine' button. If you're not verified or have only spoken via pm you can't do it.
