my laptop cam has allways worked on fab, untill the recent outage when fab went down now it wont,ive checked my flash player and thats fine and my cam also works on skype, but after the recent site outage it wont work on fab any reason why?

hiya i am having the exact same problem it use to work but all of a sudden last 2 weeks it no longer works its really annoying. i also notice recently it is showing my webcam icon on my name but it dont work i can still view other cams but cannot get mine to work at all. if you find a way of resolving this please post it thank u.

I assume you've followed the suggestions in the FAQs on this site, e.g. tried a different browser, checked that your Flash and cam drivers are up-to-date, etc?

One additional thing, which seems to work for some people, is to plug in your microphone. You can mute the mic (you don't have to broadcast), but some people find that the mere presence of a mic gets their vid-link working. I have no idea why!

There is also something about "port 1512" (I think it's 1512) I will see if I can find the details of what you can try.

hi my cam is still not working it use to work in chat room but not anymore. It affects the old chat too. I deleted adobe flash and reinstalled. I did the same with mozilla firefox but no joy. I installed google chrome and still the same. I am using windows 7. What keeps happening is when i start chat it shows my webcam icon next to my name but does not work and keeps trying to load according to other members. I notice that when i click on start straight away it goes to hide cam when it should be show cam. Other people have suffered from the same thing. have followed all the steps from faq
