A user on my friend list updated his status, 2 days ago, saying goodbye world…took lots of tablets. I’ve reported it directly to admin, but wondered if there was a quicker way to get someone to check on the user?

Not necessarily true. I have loads of people on my friends list who I chat with but have never met, I don't know their surnames or where they live apart from a rough area or even just the town/city.

I don't know there's nor met them but we got to the stage of exchanging numbers. A number can assist to do a wellbeing check.... Each to their own what they do and how far they take it

I wasn't being critical just saying just because they are friends on here it doesn't mean they have the information needed to do a welfare check.

I understand that you wasn't but like I've said some people actually take steps to even exchange numbers like I do and able to even talk rather than message
